Use an Inversion Table for Back Pain

1,Start slowly. Begin with a 15 degree inversion for only one or two minutes. Even with this mild inversion you should begin to feel increased blood and lymph flow and a gentle stretch in your muscles. Do this once or twice a day for the first week to become acclimated. Turn upright if uncomfortable; if 15 degrees is comfortable, deepen to a 20 or 30 degree inversion.
2,Go to 60 degrees. Once comfortable with the basic sensation of inversion, experience a 60 degree inversion, which puts you roughly parallel with the rear legs of a standard gravity inversion table. Most people can experience the full benefits of inversion with 5 to 15 minutes at 60 degrees once or twice per day.
3,Do basic stretches. From the position of 60 degree inversion, there are several stretches and exercises that can be done to decompress the spine. Turn gently from side to side or rock back and forth at the pelvis to stretch the lower back. Gently rotate your neck from side to side to help relieve neck pain. Simply relaxing and breathing deeply also can help relieve upper back pain.
4,Exercises for the athlete. This group of exercises is not for the relief of back pain. You can strengthen your back and certain muscle groups by doing more strenuous exercise in the fully inverted position. At 90 degrees, sit-ups, reverse squats and back extensions can provide a vigorous workout for an athlete. An inverse squat uses the arms as the legs would be used in an upright squat, and a back extension uses the arms to push away from the inversion therapy table arching the back.

How to Buy Yoga Mats?

1,Consider the mat material before making a purchase. Some synthetic materials are not as good as natural rubber when it comes to Pilates and yoga mats. Natural rubber is considered one of the best materials for exercise mats as the naturally open cell rubber material prevents slippage, even during sweaty workouts.
2,Check the thickness of the mat. Yoga mats are generally between 2/16 and 5/16 of an inch thick. Thinner mats are lighter and are best for travel or for those who prefer to be in more contact with the ground.Thick yoga mats are best for the core workouts in Pilates, yoga and other workouts as they provide the most cushioning.
3,Look into the environmental factors regarding the mat material and manufacturing process. Some companies make a point of showing their commitment to sustainability by using natural materials and recycling waste within the manufacture process.
4,Note the cost for several types and sizes of thick yoga mat to find the most economical choice that still meets your criteria. Prices vary widely, from $17 for a small synthetic one to $100 or more for the largest, thickest natural rubber ones.
5,Pick the color — perhaps the most enjoyable aspect of buying a workout yoga mat. Yoga mats come in virtually every color, and you can buy one simple color or several to coordinate with your workout gear.

How to Build an Aviary Bird Cage?

1,Choose your flooring wisely. Indoor aviaries should be easy to wipe, sweep, or wash clean, and ceramic tile is the best choice with linoleum being a close second. For outdoor enclosures a cement pad works well. You can substitute cement for a thick layer of large gravel. Using gravel that is too small will encourage ingesting of the rock and can cause problems for your birds.
2,Use PVC or metal-covered 2 by 4s to create the framework for your enclosure for indoor aviaries. All wood should be well covered in metal to prevent gnawing and collapse. Be sure to provide plenty of cross bracing to support the wire firmly for enclosures that will contain any members of the parrot family, which like to climb on the wire sides of their enclosures.
3,Use a heavy-gauge wire that can’t be chewed through by the size of birds you will be containing. Parrots are especially well-known for gnawing and using their beaks to help them climb on wire so it needs to be sturdy enough to support the weight and beak strength of such birds. Stretch the wire tightly across the supports and staple securely.
4,Use natural wood perches, which are the best for any type of birds. Make sure the perches you use are either purchased from a reliable pet supply source or are a variety of wood safe for birds. There are many common trees that are poisonous to many varieties of normally kept pet species. Always wash and age the wood you choose well before placing it inside the aviary.
5,Give parrots plenty of toys to enjoy, as they like to stay busy. Foraging toys are great fun for many types of birds, including parrots. For soft bills or other species of aviary birds provide as natural a setting as you can manage.

How to Make Folding Table Legs?

1,Prepare your wooden tabletop and legs, however necessary, whether that be sanding, painting or staining. The brackets are a bronze-plated steel, so you will want to choose a stain or paint color accordingly.
2,Determine where you would like the legs of your folding table to be mounted. Measure and mark on the underside of the table where the outside corner of each leg will be, making sure they are all in the same location relative to their respective corners.
3,Attach the brackets to the legs of your folding table so that when the bracket is open, the part that attaches to the underside of your folding table is flush with the top of the leg. Do this by first lining up the bracket how it will be attached, marking the screw holes with your carpenter’s pencil, drilling pilot holes, and then screwing the bracket to the leg with the screws that come with the brackets.
4,Double-check your measurements and markings for each folding table leg before you begin to attach them. Put the legs in place on the underside of your tabletop according to the markings you made earlier, making sure that each leg is facing in the direction it needs to face so that it will fold up under the table, and mark the screw holes for the bracket on the underside of your tabletop. Drill pilot holes for all of the screw holes, and then screw each leg/bracket combination in place, again with the screws that come with the brackets.

How to Use Solar Landscaping Lights?

1,Consider where you want to locate your solar lights. You must place them in areas of direct sunshine or the battery won’t get charged. Placing the lights beneath overhanging shrubbery is not an option.
2,While the lights generally will operate for 8 to 10 hours during the summer (lots of sunshine), they won’t operate anywhere near as long in the spring, fall or winter.
3,Note that earlier designs of solar-powered lights used incandescent bulbs and batteries that were slow to charge and didn’t produce much light. Modern solar-powered lights are built with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the light source and easy-to-charge nickel cadmium batteries to power the LED.
4,Determine the style of fixture you want. Solar-powered lights are available in a range of designs, including patio lights (installed along a patio or walkway), hanging solar lights (mounted on a fence or suspended on wire) and distinctive, unusual decorative lights (pagodas, statues).
5,Decide on the finish you want for your lights. Options include metals such as shiny copper, stainless steel, matte black and porcelain. Choose whatever style you like that fits with your garden’s design.

How Does a Spotlight Work

Spotlights Are Electric
In their most basic form, spotlights are basic electrical circuits. A power source–which may, depending on the model of the spotlight, be either alternating or direct current—connects through a switch to a high intensity light bulb. When the switch is moved into the “On” position, a mechanism inside the switch completes the electrical circuit and allows current to flow from the power source, through the lamp, and back to the power ground path. A filament inside the bulb resists the flow of electricity and, as the electricity forces its way through, begins to glow. In some very high efficiency spotlights, the electrical current feeds a small circuit board that, in turn, illuminates a collection of high intensity light emitting diodes (LED) to produce light.
Spotlights Are Reflective
Although the flow of electricity illuminates a bulb inside the spotlight, the bulb alone is rarely sufficient to produce the large amounts of light for which spotlights are renowned. To amplify the light produced by the bulb, the concave area around the bulb is coated in highly reflective, angled material. The angles within the material catch and reflect the light from the bulb, amplifying its effect. This reflective area, which is usually comprised of aluminum-coated plastic, also serves to redirect the light into a steady beam, augmenting the function of the lens. Depending on the size of the spotlight and reflectivity of the coated area, a single bulb or small collection of LEDs can be amplified to 10,000 or more lumens (125,700 candle power).
Spotlights Use Lenses
While the bulb and reflective area of the spotlight produce ample amounts of light, the natural tendency of light beams is to scatter into a broad, unfocused area. Because scattered light waves would create an ineffective spotlight, manufacturers usually cover the bulb and reflective area with a special plastic or glass lens. Much like the lens of a camera or eyeglasses, the lens on a spotlight directs light from the source into a single, focused path. Depending on the make and model of the spotlight, the lens may be adjustable, allowing the user to switch from a dimmer light that covers a very large area to a very bright, focused light that is concentrated on a small surface.

How to Make Baby Hammock

Instructions
Making the Hammock Body
1,Fold 2 inches down on all sides of the fabric and sew to make an even hem. Thread all of the fabric through your steel ring, overlap the ends of the fabric by a good 3 inches and sew together.
2,Fold the fabric in half, and then holding the ring high, figure out the width of the bottom of your hammock. Measure that length, mark it on both sides, and sew two seams on each side. The baby’s mattress will fit in between these double seams. It should be between 12 and 20 inches wide.
3,Take your yard of fabric or use a pillowcase and decide how wide and long you want your baby mattress to be. If the base for the mattress you sewed into the hammock material is 12 inches wide, your mattress should be, too. The length is up to you, but should be at least 30 inches long. Once you have created a slip cover for this small mattress, fill it with foam or an old thin pillow, then quilt it.
4,Take your wooden dowel and figure out how low you want the hammock to hang. Measure about 12 to 14 inches from the top centered ring, more or less according to the distance you want between the dowel and the baby, and sew on some ribbon, string, or some kind of tie, 12 to 14 inches down from the ring on each side to attach the hammock to the wooden dowel.
5,Tie the hammock onto the dowel very tightly. Make sure it is well-attached and that there is no chance for the knots to come undone.
Installing Your Baby Hammock
6,Drill the hook into the ceiling. Do this right so that the ring can safely support the weight of the hammock. Attach the spring to the hook.
7,Decide how low you want your hammock to hang and attach a length of chain to the spring with a carabiner or quick link.
8,Attach the length of chain to the original ring at the top of your baby  wooden hammock with a carabiner or quick link.
